6.STEEL REINFORCEMENT
All reinforcements are of 60 grade high strength deformed bar made from billet steel.
       Minimum yield stress, fy (ReH) = 400 MPa.

The following tests for reinforcing bars from random samples shall be conducted at BUET/ KUET/ RUET/ CUET as per BDS ISO 6935-2:2006/ ASTM A615M and test result shall be submitted to the engineer for checking and record :
·       Tensile strength test 

·       Elongation test

7.LAP LENGTH
Unless otherwise mentioned in the drawings, lap length of bars shall be :

8.CHAIRS
A.      Use chairs of necessary dimension made of 16Ø /20Ø  bar to support top bars of                     mat @ 5'-0" c/c.
B.       Use chairs of necessary dimension made of 10 Ø bar to support top bars @ 2'-6" c/c               bothway in floor slab

9.LAP LOCATION
A.       For beam bottom bar, lap not to be provided at middle third zone of the span
B.       For beam top bar, lap may be provided at middle third zone of the span
C.       Not more than 50% of the bars shall be spliced at one place
D.       Lap splices are to be confined by hoops with maximum spacing or pitch of d/4 or     4" where d is the effective depth of the beam.

10.WATER STOPPER
